Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
All our applicants are required to undertake a LLN assessment at enrolment. This is to ensure we can assist you if necessary with language, literacy and/or numeracy support to achieve qualifications, in line with the requirements of the training package and the needs of the workplace. If you feel you will need additional support, please bring this to our attention so we can be sure we are in a position to be able to provide it.
Fees Policy
ieGT charges fees for training. In some cases your employer will be paying the fees, but in some cases (if you are an individual student) you will be responsible for the fees for your course. Our fees are available in this information pack and on our website.
Prior to your enrolment, we will provide you (and your employer, if relevant) with a Statement of Fees, which is an itemised list of all fees and materials for your course. We cannot complete your Enrolment until you have received and accepted the fees quoted. Payment plans are available for programs. Details of payment plans are available on our website, wwwiegt.com.au and www.vim.edu.au
Refund Policy
Refunds are available to students who advise ieGT of their intention to withdraw from a course. Pro rata refund will be paid for each unit not attempted or delivered
In the event that the organisation closes its business, a refund for any unexpired portion of the fees will be made.
Course Delivery
We deliver training in a classroom, one on one and online or a combination of all three.
Course Duration
The time taken to complete a qualification can vary, depending on the course requirements and your skills and capacities. To gain a Qualification or Statement of Attainment you must be assessed as competent in the course or unit of competency.
Skills Assessment
Skills assessment is about collecting evidence and making judgements to confirmthat you have the skills or competencies to perform to the standard required inthe workplace. Skills assessments may be carried out both before you begin, during and at the end of the course. We will be as flexible as possible in our assessment within the course guidelines and will give you feedback on your progress.
If you are deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) and have completed at least 80% of the requirements for the unit, you are eligible for one re-assessment at no cost to you. If you require a subsequent assessment you will be charged $60 for each unit re assessed. You have the right to appeal if you believe you have been unfairly assessed.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is about recognising skills and knowledge obtained through prior formal training, work experience or life experience, which may demonstrate that you can satisfy some or all of the requirements of a particular unit of competency. The main focus of RPL is the competencies developed through those experiences, not how, when or where the learning occurred. If you believe that this may apply to you, please ask for an application form before your course commences.
Recognition of AQF Qualifications
ieGT recognises relevant national qualifications and Statements of Attainment gained from any other RTOs, including TAFE.  If you have a qualification or Statement of Attainment related to the course you are doing with us, please submit the original certificate(s)to obtain recognition

Occupational Health &Safety
In Victoria, workplace health and safety is governed by a system of laws, regulations and compliance codes which set out the responsibilities of employers and workers to ensure that safety is maintained at work.
The Act
The Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (the Act) is the cornerstone of legislative and administrative measures to improve occupational health and safety in Victoria. The Act sets out the key principles, duties and rights in relation to occupational health and safety. The general nature of the duties imposed by the Act means that they cover a very wide variety of circumstances, do not readily date and provide considerable flexibility for a duty holder to determine what needs to be done to comply.
The Regulations
The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2007 are made under the Act.They specify the ways duties imposed by the Act must be performed, or prescribe procedural or administrative matters to support the Act, such as requiring licenses for specific activities, keeping records, or notifying certain matters.
http://www.vwa.vic.gov.au The Victorian Work Cover Authority (VWA) is the manager of Victoria’s workplace safety system. Broadly, the responsibilities of the organisation are to:
• help avoid workplace injuries occurring
• enforce Victoria’s occupational health and safety laws
• provide reasonably priced insurance for employers
• help injured workers back into the workforce
• manage the workers’ compensation scheme by ensuring the prompt delivery of appropriate services and adopting prudent financial practices
Privacy http://www.privacy.gov.au  provides for information & guidance about the way personal information is provided, protected & handled by Employers & other bodies that gather personal information In Australia privacy law generally relates to the protection of an individual’s personal information.
