Protection of Student Fees
The Victorian Government has developed procedures to make sure that student fees are protected in the event that a provider stops operating or has their accreditation revoked. Victorian Institute of Management (VIM), in accordance with government guide lines, will charge a maximum of $1000 at enrolment for a course. Remaining monies outstanding for the course will be subject to a payment plan. For example, if a student enrols for a Certificate IV in Accounting which costs $2,500, the student will pay a maximum of $1000 on enrolment followed by a payment plan for the remaining $1500( three payments of $500).
For courses that cost less than $1000, students may pay a once off payment for the total amount, or by agreement, enter into a payment plan.
VIM Refund Policy
Refunds are available to students who advise VIM of their intention to withdraw from a course. Pro rata refund will be paid for each unit not attempted or delivered less an administration fee of $120. For example if a student has enroled in an eight unit course costing $880 and has paid the full amount on enrolment and decides to discontinue after 4 units, VIM will refund the cost of 4 units ($440) less an administration cost of $120. In the event that VIM closes its business, a refund for any unexpired portion of the fees will be made.
Issue of Credential
If a student withdraws before completion of the course, VIM will issue a statement of attainment for those units completed upon withdrawal at no cost. All fees and charges must be discharged by students before a credential is issued.
Resit Competency Assessment
If you are deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) and have completed at least 80% of the requirements for the unit, you are eligible for one re-assessment at no cost to you. If you require a subsequent assessment you will be charged $60 for each unit re assessed. You have the right to appeal if you believe you have been unfairly assessed.
RPL assessment is $300 per unit.
